Mindsets was definition that people hardly to understand clearly. This is my first time to research about those meaning and it was really interesting. In this post, I supported Carol Dweck. She is a great person in the mindsets major. I will understand more clearly about the conflict between her and Alfie Kohn. Enjoy!
Here I will post drafts of my Academic Mindset Assignment.

Assignment #2: Academic Mindset Assignment.
Draft 1:
Growth mindset is needed in our society nowadays. Carol Dweck Reacher explains clearly about how growth mindset is important and ways to change from fixed mindset to growth mindset. Growth mindset is pretty much what it sounds like that a tendency to believe that you can become better of the most basic ability through dedication and hard work “ Adult can, instead, help foster a “growth mindset”- the belief that the brain is like a muscle that can grow stronger through hard works”. In Teachers, Parents Often Misuse Growth Mindset Research, Carol Dweck Says she explains that our personality, creativity, intelligence are blocked by the educators such as parents, teacher and education systems if they are misunderstand about the concepts. That we can’t change in the meaningful way as we are supposed to do.
Fix mindset seems to get in the way of every people, not only me. In high school, even my teacher told me that I was stupid in front of my dest. From then I was holding that concept through the years and thinking that I was stupid and not able to do anything. Even now, I just relized that I wasted those time just because of one specific educator that was supposed to encourage my path of learning. I don’t blame her because everyone has their own way of teaching and mindsets as well. Growth mindset is a method help people succeed not only in the college but also life. But in The perils of “Growth Mindset” education: Why we’re trying to fix our kids when we should be fixing the system by Alfie Kohn, he assumes “I’m not suggesting we go back to promoting an innate, fixed, “entity” theory of intelligence and talent, which, as Dweck points out, can leave people feeling helpless and inclined to give up” . I don’t agree with that statement. It’s true that we might leave people feeling helpless but we also teach them how to improve themselves, and teach them that failure is a opportunity to grow, become better. All those things are pointed out from Carol Dweck’s statements.
America’s education promotes a growth mindset of learning that provides me a chance to learn and know about the people and the world. I also have chance to interact with various culture of literacy and people in DCCC specifically. is a part of a growth mindset that give us an opportunity to interact with people to learn a new things from people, together improve our own perspectives. I used to have a fixed mindset through the years in high school. I want to become better by sticking in the growth mindset that helps myself to become a better indivisual with “The power of believing that I can improve”
Conclusion, I support Carol Dweck’s argument that a growth mindset is beneficial when used properly. I wish I could have growth mindset sooner so I don’t have to be struggling by the time I was at high school so I could have a better preparation for college. If people can analyze and process growth mindset properly, it’s easier to look for success in life.
